Judo for schools
Bringing judo to the next generation.
Our mission is to make judo accessible to more children and families in the Klang Valley. Bringing judo into schools is how we plan to reach young people who might never otherwise step onto a mat.
Programme overview
Why judo in schools?
Judo combines physical activity with a clear code of values, making it well suited to school settings.
- Judo is a structured, values-led sport that teaches respect, self-control and resilience.
- Safe falling (ukemi) is taught first, building body awareness and confidence.
- It suits students of all fitness levels and body types.
- Interested students gain a clear pathway into club training and, for those who choose it, competition.

School partners
Partner schools.
The schools programme is in its early stages. MKC is developing an outreach plan with schools in the Ampang area of Selangor as a starting point. No school is listed as a partner until it has confirmed the partnership and agreed to be named.
For administrators
Questions from schools.
Do students need any judo experience?
No. Introductory sessions are designed for complete beginners and begin with safe falling (ukemi) and simple movement before any throwing technique.
How is safety managed?
Safety is MKC’s top priority. Falling techniques are taught before throws, and session content is matched to age and ability. Specific arrangements — supervision ratios, mats and space requirements — are agreed with each school before any programme begins.
What formats are possible?
Formats are discussed with each school. Possibilities include an introductory demonstration, a taster workshop or a recurring programme. Availability depends on coaching capacity and school requirements.
Is there a cost?
Programme arrangements, including any costs, are confirmed individually with each school. Please submit an enquiry and the club will respond with current information.
What happens if students want to continue?
Interested students and their families can be invited to a trial class at the club, where they can continue their judo journey.
